We're excited to announce the next in the series of video contests in 2012 to inspire individuals to use technology to get healthy and stay healthy: join the Beat Down Blood Pressure Video Challenge at BloodPressure.Challenge.gov!

The Beat Down Blood Pressure Video Challenge

Create a short video (under 2 minutes): share how you use technology to monitor blood pressure, take medication as prescribed to maintain low blood pressure, and/or make lifestyle changes that reduce your risks and enhance heart health.

If you're a caregiver or healthcare provider, tell us how you've helped your loved one or patients manage their hypertension.

Browse the Video Gallery and vote for your favorites daily until March 8. Your vote will help determine who takes home the Popular Choice prize ($750).

A little more than 48 hours remain in the Healthy New Year Video Challenge. Make sure to enter your video before 5 p.m. EST on February 16. $5,000 in cash prizes await.

If you haven't started shooting yet, there's still time! The video only needs to be under 2-minutes long. To get started:

1. Review the rules and requirements.
2. Write out a script of what you'll say/show in the video. (Need inspiration? Check out these helpful resources.)
3. Hit record on your camera, smartphone, or computer.

If you've submitted a video already, why not increase your odds by making another one (or two)? There is no limit to how many times an eligible person or team may enter. An individual may also join more than one team.

We're approaching the submission deadline for the Healthy New Year Video Challenge. If you haven't created a video yet, there's still time! Just under 2 minutes of video will put you in the running for great prizes:

Before you submit, please be sure your video meets these requirements:

1. Your video contains ONE health-related resolution
2. Your video shows how you will use specific technology to achieve your resolution
3. Your video describes how you plan to maintain/keep your New Year's resolution
4. Your video directs viewers to www.HealthIT.gov for more information
5. Your video is no longer than 2 minutes

Review the full rules, and don't forget the most important part: have fun with it! Round up your friends and family to be in the video, and encourage others to make one too.
